Updated Skin Regimen

My skin has never been perfect. I struggled with acne for 10+ years and now have some acne scarring, under-eye circles and the start of fine lines. But I have learned to love my skin and have come a long way in my skin regimen. I enjoy trying new serums, moisturizers and masks. I’ve learned most of skin education from getting facials at International Orange, following beauty bloggers and perusing YouTube far past my bedtime.

Morning Routine:

  1. Splash face with water - I don’t use soap in the morning to prevent my skin from drying out.

  2. SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic serum - This has vitamin C, vitamin E and ferulic acid to diminish and prevent lines and aging. It is a little pricey but does a fantastic job brightening my complexion and lightening scars/hyper-pigmentation. It only takes 1-2 drops per day.

  3. Elta MD SPF 46 sunscreen - My sisters, mom and I have used this for years. We love that it’s not oily, it’s great for acne prone or Rosacea skin, and is high in SPF and UV protection. My mom’s dermatologist recommended it after she had skin cancer. I wear this every day.

  4. OleHenriksen Banana Bright Eye Creme - This eye cream is great for brightening and putting on before your makeup (it slides right on!). In my opinion, it’s not heavy enough for an evening night cream, but perfect for that morning pick-me-up (and smells amazing!).

Evening Routine:

  • Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser - I’ve tried so many face washes, many of them way overpriced, and always come back to this one. It’s not over-drying, takes my makeup off great, isn’t crazy expensive and Garner loves it too.

  • Clinique Solutions Clarifying Lotion - I’ve been using this since I was 14. When I had bad breakouts, I would use this daily. Now I use it 1-2 times a week to exfoliate and prevent blemishes. I apply it using a cotton round.

  • Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Face Oil - This stuff smells amazing and seriously helps put me to sleep. I massage it into my face and neck for one minute and take that time to wind-down from the day. The serum smooths the skin and helps create that “glow” when I wake up.

  • Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream - I have this in all three sizes. It provides so much hydration without feeling heavy or oily. I lather this on every night, whether I’m traveling or at home.

  • iS Clinical Youth Eye Complex - This is one of the pricier beauty items I use, but the skin around the eye is the most sensitive, the thinnest and the first to show lines… so if I’m going to invest in something, it’s going to be an eye cream. This was recommended by my esthetician and combats wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles. It’s also light enough to wear both day and night if you choose.

  • Kiehl’s Creme de Corps - I usually hate lotions as I’m super sensitive to strong fragrances. But this Kiehl’s lotion lives up to the cult following. It is extremely rich, leaves my legs and arms smooth and moisturized, and is not overpowering with chemical fragrances. I apply after my shower and before bed.

Weekly Occasion:

  • Kiehl’s Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil - Yes this has cannabis in it, and yes it’s totally legal. This helps calm the skin and I love applying it after a workout. I wash my face, massage a few drops to my face/neck and my skin instantly looks less red and feels relaxed.

  • Luzern Hydra Enzyme Masque - I apply this mask once a week and sleep in it overnight. It has natural enzymes, root extracts, almond oil and vitamin C to brighten the skin, fade discoloration and smooth texture. It’s a mini DIY facial.

  • Glycolix Elite Treatment Pads - I use this once a week as a deep exfoliant. Each wipe contains vitamins A, C, E and Coenzyme Q10 which help fight blackheads, large pores, wrinkles and more. After washing my face at night, I rub one of the pads all over my face, let it sit and tingle for a few minutes (it’s working its magic!), then rinse and continue with my serums/moisturizers.

  • Gold Collagen Eye Masks - I keep these in the fridge and put them on when working on the computer at home or watching Netflix. I love the cool temperature and the added boost of collagen to fight dark circles.

  • Dual Action Jade Roller - No clue if this actually works, but it feels so nice. I like this roller because each side has a different use. I also keep this in the fridge as it feels good to have a cool massage before bed. The studded end helps tone/reduce fine lines and the smooth end helps massage in serum (and relax me before bed!).

What do you use in your daily skincare routine? Anything I need to add?
